Known by his stage name Lexis Vhi, Alex Vansilalom uses poetry to express his experiences through storytelling, gothic imagery and analogies. In trying to understand his emotions more broadly and deeply, he often explores negative emotions and themes of connection, infatuation and inspiration. Lexis is obsessed with the importance of storytelling and its essential role in passing down knowledge in a way that inspires humanity. Wanting to break the boundaries of popularised, conventional spoken word and more classical, or traditional poetry, Lexis continues to explore the power and influence of finding your own voice. Lexis founded Social Hearts Club – a monthly open mic night and club for artists to gather. He hopes that people who feel isolated with their words and art can find a place to share their words with like-minded individuals.
